The Streamwood Historical Society collected many stories from Streamwood residents in the 1990s and 2000s. Some of the interview subjects could remember attending Hoosier Grove Schoolhouse, a one-story schoolhouse that closed in 1954. Other subjects reminisced about the earliest days of Streamwood in the 1950s, when you had to rely on people you just met to help create a village.
